TIF Treatment for GERD
Gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as GERD, is a medical term for what’s commonly known as acid reflux or heartburn. While many patients can find relief with medication and a change in diet alone, some patients require a different solution. At Methodist Interventional Endoscopy Center, we offer transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF). The TIF procedure tightens the connection between the esophagus and the stomach. It defectively prevents stomach acid from going into the esophagus. It is done using an endoscope from inside the body - there is no cutting. After the TIF procedure, most patients experience immediate relief and many no longer need to take anti-reflux medications.
-
Pancreatic Cysts and Pancreatitis
We are dedicated to helping patients get transformative care through advanced education and leading-edge research. As part of the treatment for pancreatitis, the specialists at the Methodist Interventional Endoscopy Center of Excellence use a minimally-invasive, highly specialized technique called a EUS-guided cystogastrostomy, using endoscopic ultrasound to drain pancreatic cysts. This makes treatment more affordable and cuts down days in the hospital when compared to traditional treatments. Pancreatitis can sometimes lead to fluid and dead tissue collecting around the pancreas. Using a specialized endoscope, physicians at Methodist Interventional Endoscopy Center of Excellence can remove this dead and diseased tissue and place a stent to divert fluid from around the pancreas into the stomach, where it is then eliminated.

Laser Therapy for Bile Duct Cancer
Bile duct cancer is a rare form of liver cirrhosis caused by disease or defects of the bile ducts. Using a specialized endoscope, the physicians at the Methodist Interventional Endoscopy Center of Excellence can examine the gastrointestinal (GI) system, including the bile ducts, to diagnose and often treat disease. This includes removing obstructions, destroying cancerous tumors, and performing laser therapies, all without making an incision. We are proud to offer this minimally invasive options, allowing most patients faster recoveries through this transformative treatment option. Committing to improving and saving lives through leading-edging technology, our physicians provide the comprehensive treatment patients need.

Endoscopic Suturing – Leaks, Fistulas & Bariatrics
Methodist Interventional Endoscopy Center offers endoscopic suturing through a specialized endoscopic called the OverStitch™ Endoscope Suturing System by Apollo Endosurgery. This device allows physicians to suture the inside of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract to close holes or leaks, secure stents, and prevent them from migrating. It can also help narrow the surgical connection between the stomach and intestines in bariatric surgery patients who have undergone gastric bypass. This advanced technology is implemented to improve patient outcomes and offer transformative care, leading to faster healing and fewer complications.

LINX
LINX a revolutionary solution for reflux suffers. LINX is intended for patients diagnosed with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) as defined by abnormal pH testing, and who are seeking an alternative to continuous acid suppression therapy. This quarter-sized device does exactly what your failing Reflux Barrier is supposed to do — prevent stomach acid from entering your esophagus. This simple, minimally invasive laparoscopic procedure starts working the moment the device is implanted. Unlike other procedures to treat reflux, LINX is implanted around the outside of the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) and requires no alteration to the stomach. LINX preserves normal physiological function so you can belch or vomit as needed. The titanium beads open and close to let food down, and if it needs to come up, it can. Designed for a lifetime. LINX is constructed of titanium, and the permanent magnets mean LINX will be working for you for the long haul.
